America is a mean high school girl

Back in high school, my best friend was the only guy lower than me on the Darwinian food chain that is secondary education.
Richard was always the brunt of jokes and pranks, including one in which a girl pretended to like him, gave him a kiss and then laughed in his face.
Which brings me to Sanjaya Malakar and "American Idol.'' This poor kid is in over his head and way out of his league.
And he knows it.
Every week, when he is sent back to sit with the other finalists, he doesn't smile. He has the gait and the demeanor of a man on his way to the gallows. You can practically hear him thinking: "Oh, God. Not again. Please, please put me out of my misery. If you send me home, I promise never to sing again.''
The kid is only 17. He doesn't need America to give him a big sloppy kiss and then laugh in his face.

Hope that if he doesn't win, which I don't think he will, he'll have time to perfect his singing, and make it big, in spite of the naysayers.

Now I understand why such crap as "The American Idol" is such a success. If they can get intelligent people like you to watch such dreck, they must be doing something right.

no one says he has to stay..he can leave whenever he wants (before he is booted)-unfortunately, he may be staying awhile longer, Howard Stern (radio jock, not Anna Nicole's weirdo guru) has asked his large loyal fan base to vote Sanjaya on-as a joke- with en masse voting..we'll see if it worked next week...Sanjaya seems like a nice enough boy but I can't help envisioning a huge wedgie when he appears onstage...

HOWARD STERN SHOULD BE VOTED OFF THE AIRWAYS.

He thinks it is such a big joke. However does he understand, that there are talented people that get voted off incorrectly because of his JOKE.

This is a chance for these people to make it in the music business, and the IDIOTS that follow him are denying them.

SHAME ON YOU HOWARD STERN AND ALSO ALL OF YOU IDIOTS THAT LIKE TO DESTROY TALENTED PEOPLE.
